50 Cent (real name Curtis James Jackson III) has reportedly filed for bankrupcy.
Wall Street Journal reports that the G-Unit star has filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on Monday, July 13.
According
to legal documents, filed in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Hartford,
Connecticut, Mr. Jackson reported assets and debts each in the range of
$10 million to $50 million.
The attorney listed on the bankruptcy petition is yet
to inform the press on the details of the papers as he couldn’t be
reached for comment, WSJ reports.
According to
Associated Press, The filing comes days after a jury directed Mr.
Jackson to pay $5 million to a woman who sued over a sex tape.
Back in May, 50 Cent filed a lawsuit against Rick Ross claiming the heavily bearded rapper leaked his own ex-girlfriend, Lastonia Leviston sex tape. But the girl in question claimed 50 Cent leaked her sex tape to embarrass the Maybach Music boss during his famous beef with the G-Unit ceo.
Then in June, 50 Cent has admitted that he lied when he said in a radio interview that he bought and posted a sex tape starring rival Rick Ross’ baby mama, Leviston.
According
to a deposition played Monday, June 22, 2015 in Manhattan Supreme
Court, 50 Cent admitted lying solely for entertainment purposes when he
told radio host Tim Westwood that he posted the 2008 sex tape of Lastonia and her then-boyfriend in a dig at Ross and to hype up the rivalry between them.
