Giuliana & Bill Rancic’s Heartbreak: Surrogate Miscarried Second Baby

 

Just when Giuliana and Bill Rancic thought they would welcome a second child until tragedy struck. Their beloved surrogate suffered a miscarriage during her first trimester while carrying the couple’s baby. So sad.

Giuliana Rancic, 39, and her husband, Bill, 43, continue to face

 difficulties while trying to conceive another child. While trying again for a second child with the same surrogate who gave birth to their son, Duke, 1, they were successful — until the surrogate suffered a miscarriage just weeks before hitting her second trimester.

Giuliana and Bill have not had it easy while trying to become parents.
After facing multiple failed IVF treatments and being diagnosed with breast cancer, Giuliana and Bill finally turned to a surrogate, Delphine. It was Delphine who carried and gave birth to their first son, Duke, in August 2012.
Sadly, she did not have much luck while carrying their second child as she miscarried during the first trimester at just nine weeks.
“Unfortunately our surrogate Delphine who we love very much had a miscarriage. It’s something that we didn’t see coming. We were devastated,” Bill told People on June 1.

“She was about nine weeks pregnant. We were pretty close to getting into the safe zone.”
How sad. Bill also said that they obviously do not blame Delphine for the miscarriage, and they are hoping to try again soon when the time is right.
“Delphine is amazing. We hit the surrogate lottery when we met her. Obviously this was no fault of hers.”
“We’re fighters. Hopefully we’re going to have good news and Delphine will be on board one more time. We’ve had to battle it out and that’s something that we’re going to continue to do.”
It sure sounds like Giuliana and Bill are a very strong couple, and we truly hope they are successful in trying again for a second child.
